Vilarnau Cava Brut Rose
Gaudi’s art permeates all of Barcelona, including his famous and breathtaking Park Güell. The label of this cava is adorned by the “trencadis” style of glass and pottery shard based art that is pervasive in Park Güell and thus has a decidedly “Barcelona” feel to it, which is why we chose it for our “Dreaming of Barcelona” gift basket. The artistic label is a good introduction to the light-hearted fun that is this cava. It’s pleasant creamy mousse bubbles up to carry a wide array of ripe red fruit aromas to the nose, led by strawberry and raspberry. The 15-24 months of bottle age add a nice long finish to this fruit-forward, Sunday holiday brunch cava. This is the perfect bottle over which a gaggle of old friends can catch up, sip by sip.
