Muga Rosado Rioja 2023
Muga is one of those producers who don’t look at rose as an afterthought – the grapes for this are sourced from their prime vineyard sites, and it gets full Concorde treatment from the winemaker and cellar crew. Its enticing salmon-pink color beckons one to bask in brightness, preferably with a tray full of tapas or maybe just some almonds and olives or a dozen oysters. Of all the wines we stock in our retail location fridges, this is always one to disappear the fastest.
The blend is 60% Garnacha, 30% Viura and 10% Tempranillo. Aromas of ripe strawberry, apricots, lychee nut and bakery shop lead to delicately understated yet compelling and mouth-coating palate.
